Laser Hair Removal
What is laser hair removal?
Laser hair removal is a medical treatment that involves the use of a concentrated beam of light (laser) to target and remove unwanted hair. Typically, a number of sessions are required to completely remove the unwanted hair, which can vary from client to client. If you have any questions or are curious about receiving this treatment clients can book in for a free consultation under our online booking system.
Things to know before your laser hair removal treatment:
- A clean shave is necessary the night before a laser session, or the day of
- Clients cannot be on blood thinners or medications where you need to avoid the sun
- No tanning before or after laser sessions (avoid spray tanning for 1 week before the laser session)
- Clients may continue to shave as needed between your appointments
- Advise your laser technician of any medical history changes before your laser session

What is a hydrabrasion facial?
The Hydrabrasion system simultaneously exfoliates, cleanses, and nourishes the skin using Diamond Tip Technology. The main job of our Hydrabrasion machine is to extract excess oils, dirt, and dead skin from the pores of your face. The first chamber expels distilled water that flushes out your pores, while the second chamber collects the waste.
What are the benefits of a hydrabrasion facial?
The Hydrabrasion facial is said to help improve overall skin texture, tone, and appearance. This is due to the deep exfoliation that cleans your pores, removing debris and allowing for better penetration of face serums tailored to your skin type. It results in the cleanest feeling skin ever. This is an ideal service for clients who want to improve acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles & aging skin, dry and dehydrated skin, and hyperpigmentation.
Is a hydrabrasion facial for everyone? And what to know before coming in for your service.
A hydrabrasion facial is not suitable for everyone. Those who are pregnant, diagnosed with cancer (or not yet in remission for 6+months), have grade 4 acne, auto-immune disease, diabetes, impetigo, and rosacea are not candidates for this treatment. Your technician will use caution and avoid areas where there is active acne, seborrheic dermatitis, herpes simplex (cold sores), eczema, psoriasis, keloid scars, broken capillaries, raised moles, warts, skin tags, cuts, bruises, and abrasions. Clients who are scheduled for this service must discontinue use of any AHA’s BHA’s Retinol, Vitamin C products 3 days prior to receiving this treatment. Waxing: all facial waxing services must be done 48hrs before this treatment, and not for 48 post-treatment. Men: Men should close shave the night before a treatment if the treatment is in the morning, or in the morning if the treatment is in the afternoon.
Hydrabrasion aftercare:
There is minimal discomfort experienced during a hydrabrasion treatment and the client is able to carry on with normal activities post procedure. i.e., no extreme reddening of the skin. Adhering to the following aftercare will ensure ideal results from this service.
- Avoid direct sunlight and wear SPF
- Avoid wearing heavy makeup for 12-24 hours
- Stay hydrated and drink plenty of water
- No exfoliating, using AHA’s BHA’s Retinol, Vitamin C or Scrubs for 7 days. Clients may use a gentle moisturizer to keep the skin hydrated, and gentle cleansing can resume the day following treatment.
- Change your pillow case
- Rebook no earlier than 4-6 weeks or as recommended by your Aesthetician
- Botox/dermal fillers: allow 14 days before performing microdermabrasion, including any touch up injections, to allow botox/fillers to settle
- Laser treatments: please allow at least 2 weeks before commencing any laser treatments
- Waxing: avoid facial waxing for 48 hrs

Amazing Experience 🤩 I am an avid Lasher & I have seen a many different Lash Techs over the years. Rachel at Muskoka Aesthetics is by far the best I have encountered yet! I have always experienced retention issues with my lashes not even lasting until my next 2 week appointment BUT this is far from my experience with Rachel! My lash retention after 2 weeks was out of this world amazing, almost like I had just got them done! Thank you Rachel 💕 I will most definitely continue to come back to this spa for my lashes. The staff as a whole are extremely warm & friendly from the moment you arrive until you leave. I have been going to Muskoka Aestetics for 4 years now - primarily for volume lash extensions. My experiences have been nothing but great, with Nicole and her entire team! I’d like to give a huge shout out to Rachel for helping me out with a set care plan for my natural lashes that aided in their regrowth after mass shedding… I was almost convinced I would have to take a break from lash extensions with how thin they were becoming. She would even check in on me over her Christmas break to ensure I was following my lash serum routine, and now my lashes are better than ever ! She always goes above and beyond with her services and recommendations, and is very well educated on the products she is using if you ask a lot of questions like me. Rachel can also either make you smile and laugh or feel completely comfortable and relaxed enough to nap during your appointment.
